Your 2024 Canada Life Community Builder award winners

Every day, Advisor Solutions advisors across Canada give their time to make a difference in their communities. To celebrate these outstanding contributions, we launched the annual Community Builder Award in 2019.

National winner

Congratulations to Diane McCurdy, McCurdy Financial Planning Inc., this year’s winner of the Canada Life Community Builder award. Diane has won a $5,000 donation made in her name and sent on behalf of Canada Life. 

Diane McCurdy has served as the Honorary Colonel of 442 Search and Rescue “City of Vancouver” Squadron at 19 Wing Comox, BC, since November 2014. In this role, Diane helps build and maintain the connection between the officers and members at 19 Wing with the people of the surrounding community. While it’s impossible to summarize all that Diane does in this role, which requires at least 30 hours a month of her time, some of her 2024 activities included:

• Providing support for the military presence at the 2024 Grey Cup
• Helping to organize Christmas events for the families of 19 Wing
• Creating Christmas boxes for families of deployed soldiers
• Supporting fundraising for and awareness of various military charities which support families, such as Mainland BC Military Family Resource Centre
